[It takes a few moments to process... but the sound of breakfast proceeds the smell of it.

It's a few moments later, Chrono can hear the covers being thrown back and those first unsteady steps finding their gait.]

Mmm... That smells good.

[overclocking]

[ If she rounds the corner, she'll arrive just in time to have a bowl of steaming soup placed on the table. ]

It's mostly leftovers, to be honest. We'll probably have to run a mission if we want to eat anything fancy for a while...

[As she sits, she rubs at her eyes with her palms.]

It's kind of wasteful to get a whole bunch when it's just us.

[They'd really... never lived anywhere that wasn't a large group of people, or a kitchen.. or...]

A little homestyle doesn't hurt, you know.

[She's eagerly pulling the bowl over. Nothing wakes her up faster than hot food, really. Well, besides ponds.]

[overclocking]

We could always share... After all, we can't let Alice starve.

[ He takes the seat across from her, pulling his knees up until it's more of a perch, resting his chin on them. ]

[soul_sister]

True enough. [She pauses to blow across a generous spoonful, before taking a bite.]

Haaa, she really can eat, though. And you thought I was bad.

[overclocking]

You are bad. It's just that there are two of you now...

[ Under the table, his fingers fidget in his lap — the only sign of poorly-compressed nerves. His own lack of soup bowl is just another symptom of it. ]

[soul_sister]

There's nothing wrong with two of me! [She points a spoon at him over her bowl.... and does a double take...]

... You know, if we're getting low on supplies, you can have half of mine.

[overclocking]

What?

— Oh! No, it's nothing like... I'm just not hungry, that's all.

[soul_sister]

[Hang on, this is going to take a second.

Rosette has never known a world where not hungry was a factor in meals.]

Really?

[overclocking]

Really.

We can't all constantly stuff our faces like you do, you know.

[soul_sister]

It's not stuffing my face! I'm a growing woman!

[overclocking]

It's definitely stuffing your face. Do you know how often I have to go hunting to feed only two people? You'd think we had six people stashed away in here.

[soul_sister]

Six of you, maybe! Who isn't hungry for half the meals!

[This argument, notably, doesn't stop her from talking with her mouth full.]

[overclocking]

[ POINTING ]

It's a good thing, too, or we might actually starve!

[soul_sister]

[...... ON THAT LAST WORD SHE JUST SHOVES A SPOON (full of soup) INTO HIS MOUTH.]

[overclocking]

[ CHOKES and splutters while he yanks it back out. INSULTS PENDING, his life is in danger just now. ]

[soul_sister]

At this point, you're responsible too!

[overclocking]

[ Stands up.

Sidesteps the table.

TACKLES HER. ]

[soul_sister]

[It's a graceful arc, Rosette knocked clean off her chair and both of them sail cleanly to the floor. Rosette hit's the ground with an indignant SQUAWK!!

[overclocking]

[ He relents only when he's successfully sitting on her. ]

That's not how you get people to eat more.

[soul_sister]

[She makes a few good attempts to throw him off.... and settles for just a hand pushing at his face.]

I wouldn't have to take measures if you just ate more to start with.

[overclocking]

[ Pushing on his face is effective insofar as he rolls off of her specifically to avoid having a hand pushed in his face. ]

Honestly... I'm not a child that needs looking after, you know.

[soul_sister]

[Perhaps it was a gesture for the gentle wake up, or perhaps it was simply because Chrono gave in the tussle so easily, Rosette didn't pursue him to swap the holds, just sat up and folded her arms.]

Of course not! If you were a child you'd have way less choice in the matter.

[And way more carrots in the stew.]

[overclocking]

[ He mutters something indiscernible under his breath before, finally, ]

Anyway... are you done eating? I'd assume so if you're shoving it at other people.

[soul_sister]

Ah.. yeah.

[She picks herself up off of the floor and dusts off of her skirt.]

Do we have a mission today?
